Malaysia will earn RM27.16 billion from rubber exports in 2023, of which 70% (RM19.04 billion) comes from rubber gloves.

The Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) said rubber products are exported to more than 190 countries, with the United States (29%) and the European Union (19%) being the two largest destinations. The council is committed to making Malaysia the largest exporter of sustainably produced rubber products, emphasizing focus on quality, sustainability and environmental social governance (ESG).

To promote sustainable development, MRC hosts the first 2024 Rubber ESG Conference to encourage the rubber industry to adopt sustainable practices that meet the needs of environmental and ethical sustainability.
