Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) sales fell again by 7.5% in November to NT$206 billion (US$6.6 billion), showing that the recovery of the global chip market still faces challenges. Revenue in the first 11 months was 1.99 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.1%.

The chip industry faces a global inventory problem as manufacturers struggle to dispose of unsold inventory. Although the chip market is expected to bottom out “soon,” uncertainty has increased, mainly from China’s economic woes and U.S. trade sanctions. Demand for AI chips has helped companies like Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices.

AMD has raised its forecast for the AI chip market, predicting it will exceed US$400 billion in the next four years, showing rapid growth in expectations for AI hardware.
