Saudi Aramco plans to expand its retail operations in Malaysia and Southeast Asia

Saudi Aramco plans to expand its downstream operations at the Phangerang Integrated Facility (PIC) in Johor, Malaysia, with the aim of establishing Southeast Asia’s largest energy and chemicals hub.

The company’s downstream president, Mohammed Y Al Qahtani, said he was looking forward to the Pengerang project, emphasizing that it not only maintains operations but also plans for future expansion. On the issue of retail business in Southeast Asia, he noted that the company has been doing this type of business globally and said that it will consider the possibility of upgrading and expansion in the future.

He referred to the recent acquisition of Chilean retailer Esmax and said it was a step in the company’s global expansion retail and trading strategy.

Overall, Aramco, in partnership with Petronas, is committed to making PIC the largest energy and chemicals hub in Southeast Asia.
