As of the end of 2023, the recovery of the Malaysian aviation industry is progressing steadily, with 72 airlines operating in the Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) network, an increase of 9.1% from the previous year. Connects to 147 destinations, including 113 international and 34 domestic.
International passengers reached 4 million in December 2023, the highest level since February 2020. In December 2023, Malaysian airport passenger traffic reached 7.7 million passengers, with international customers increasing by 18% and domestic customers increasing by 16%. The total number of passengers at Istanbul SAW Airport in December 2023 was 3.1 million, a record high, an increase of 4.5%, and the proportion of international traffic exceeded 50% for the first time.
