In the past two years, Malaysia has approved 898 foreign investment projects with a total value of RM281.5 billion, creating 98,725 jobs, 88% of which were supplied to locals.

Manufacturing created 78,033 jobs, with the electrical and electronics sector providing the most (40,618 jobs). The service industry created 8,847 job opportunities, mainly in the support services, medical and information and communication fields.

Investment projects usually take 18 to 24 months to realize, and 85% of them can be completed within this period. But Malaysia needs to address salary levels to attract more skilled workers, especially in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence chip fields.
