Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin, deputy chairman of Tourism Malaysia, said states should complement each other rather than compete with each other in terms of tourism resources.

He proposed that Perak and Pahang could cooperate in developing eco-tourism and advocate inter-state resource sharing. At the same time, more interstate partnerships will be established to jointly develop tourism.

Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Luo Si Yee said they strive to make tourists stay in Perak longer and hope that tourists will no longer just pass through the state. They have partnered with Tourism Malaysia to promote Perak’s tourist areas and want tourists to engage in more tourism activities, not just dining.
