Malaysia leads Southeast Asia in drone adoption

DJI pointed out that Malaysia is one of the leading countries in Southeast Asia in the adoption of drone technology, especially among the younger generation and research institutions.

Southeast Asia sales manager Holly Huo said the company works with its R&D team to develop new products based on customer needs, such as integrated surveillance cameras and automated solutions.

Meanwhile Aonic Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Cheong Jin Xi said the drone industry has evolved from “flying cameras in the sky” to encompassing a variety of applications and solutions. The Malaysian government supports the development of drone technology, such as the launch of the Drone Technology Action Plan 2022-2030.

Aonic is DJI’s national distributor in Malaysia.
